New Years Prayer
Dear Lord,In the new year, we pray
that You will guide us each new day in paths that are pleasing to You.Lord, the new year gives us another chance to rededicate our lives to You, to study Your Word so that we know right from wrong and to act in accordance with Your commands.Thank you for the sense of direction, purpose and peace we get from aligning our lives with Your Holy will.We pray for the strength and the will to obey You each and every day of the new year,and when we fail, we pray for Your mercy,Your compassion, Your grace and Your love.Help us in the new year to be your faithful servants.In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

See you next year

I can't believe that another year has come and gone.. It's unreal how fast time blows by...We've had a great year I'll have to say.. The only thing I'm really sad about is this was my last year of being in my 20's.. So long! you've been a great decade.. As of Sunday I'll be turning the big 30 and I don't think right now I'm happy about it.... Okay for instance, a couple of years ago I would totally be up for ringing in the new year and now I won't see it because I can't stay awake long enough.. haha... Oh, well ,can't be young forever!! I'm just wishing all of my friends and family a wonderful new year to come.... Oh, and don't forget to eat your black-eyed peas tomorrow..... And Jo and Jesse, I love you guys and I'm praying extra hard tonight... Keep positive... love ya!

A new hairdo!

I had a great day today. Mom was down and she begged me to get a haircut... I guess I was looking shaggy! We went to Benton and messed around and I got all my hair chopped off.. It hasn't been this short in a long time! I just closed my eyes and let her do it!!!! It looks and feels great though! I'm glad I got talked into it! Thanks mom! We also went to lunch with my sister Jo and her husband Jesse.... Mazzio's was the place to be!!! We just finished putting up the remaining Santa toys that hadn't been opened yet... What a mess! The girls are sitting here in the living room right now fighting over Polly Pocket pieces.... The war is on..... This is better than T.V.

It's all Over!

We made it through the Holidays with no scars!! It's back to work for a few days and then another few days off. I can handle that! I can't believe that 2008 is almost over.. Boy, has this year flew by! 2009 here we come whether we want to or not... I'm also not looking forward to Jan. 4th! I'll be 3o! Hard to believe.... I'm ready for our family to get back into our routine with no traveling involved! I'm ready for things to slow down for awhile......

I love my family

Today was fun! We went to White Oak to see my mom for Christmas... Later on we went to eat with all of my fam at Chelle's in Camden,AR. We ate catfish and shrimp and visited with alot of family that we haven't seen in awhile. It was good to see everyone... It was the first time me and my brother have been in the same room with my cousins in years... Felt like old times... Good to see everyone.... Love you Katie and Nick!!! anyways, I'll be home tomorrow.....

Santa has come and gone

Well, Santa has come and gone and boy did he leave a haul! The girls got everything that they asked for and then some. We woke up early and enjoyed watching them open Santa presents. Uncle Chase spent the night with us and got up early too! Here are a few pics of the presents and the girls opening them.... It was fun, but I'm sooooo glad it's over!!

twas the night before christmas for moms

It was the night before Christmas, when all thru the abodeOnly one creature was stirring, and she was cleaning the commode.The children were finally sleeping, all snug in their beds,While visions of Nintendo 64 and Barbie, flipped through their heads.
The dad was snoring in front of the TV,With a half-constructed bicycle on his knee.So only the mom heard the reindeer hooves clatter,Which made her sigh, "Now what's the matter?"
With toilet bowl brush still clutched in her hand,She descended the stairs, and saw the old man.He was covered with ashes and soot, which fell with a shrug."Oh great," muttered the mom, "Now I have to clean the rug."
"Ho-ho-ho!" cried Santa, "I'm glad you're awake.""Your gift was especially difficult to make.""Thanks, Santa, but all I want is some time alone.""Exactly!" he chuckled, "I've made you a clone."
"A clone?" she asked, "What good is that?Run along, Santa, I've no time for chit-chat."The mother's twin. Same hair, same eyes,Same double chin.
"She'll cook, she'll dust," She'll mop every mess.You'll relax, take it easy, Watch The Young & the Restless." "Fantastic!" the mom cheered. "My dream come true!"I'll shop. I'll read., I'll sleep a whole night through! "
From the room above, the youngest began to fret."Mommy?! I scared... and I am wet."The clone replied, "I'm coming, sweetheart.""Hey," the mom smiled, "She knows her part."
The clone changed the small one, and hummed a tune,as she bundled the child, in a blanket cocoon."You the best mommy ever. " I really love you."The clone smiled and sighed, "I love you, too."
The mom frowned and said, "Sorry, Santa, no deal. "That's my child's love, she's trying to steal."Smiling wisely Santa said, "To me it is clear, "Only one loving mother, is needed here."
The mom kissed her child, and tucked her into bed."Thank you, Santa, for clearing my head.I sometimes forget, it won't be very long,When they'll be too old, for my cradle-song."
The clock on the mantle began to chime.Santa whispered to the clone, "It works every time."With the clone by his side Santa said, "Goodnight. Merry Christmas, Mom, You'll be all right."

Twas the night before Christmas

Well, we made it in one piece! The night before Christmas! yeah!! Almost over... Thank goodness.. It's been fun, though... Today, we had to work a half a day, and then when I got off we had lunch with Uncle Micheal and Aunt Bridgette at Moe's. They were coming through town on their way back to Marion.. It was good to see them and visit.. Then we came home and have been getting ready for Santa ever since.. Hannah is cleaning her room so Santa will bring her new toys and Hayleigh is worried that she will actually have to see Santa himself!! lol... Uncle Chase is coming sometime tonight and we're going to eat chili.. The girls made Santa's cookies and we'll put them under the tree before bed. We will also read Twas the Night Before Christmas as a special treat before bed too..... I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, and Merry Christmas from the Work Family.....

Baby it's cold outside

Well the weather is cold again for now. It changes on a day to day bases in Arkansas... The girls had a good day at the learning center. It was just another day at work for me.. busy busy. Did some last minute Christmas shopping. Finally done! Oh, and good luck tomorrow Jo and Jesse with your tests!! I'll be praying extra hard for you guys tonight and in the morning! love ya'll! Christmas Countdown!

It's getting closer! Not to many days left to finish that shopping! Are you done yet? I have just a few more little things to get and then I'm finished, thank goodness. The girls are getting excited about Santa, but also learning that it's not just about Santa and gift giving but about something much greater than that. About Our Father giving the most wonderful gift of all. His baby boy who came to the earth to die for our sins... For that we will forever be indebted. How can we show him that we appreciate what he did for us in our everyday lives? It will take alot of work, but all we can do is love him and teach the world about him and hope that others find out about the Lord before it's to late for them. God bless you and yours this holiday season... and remember what we are really celebrating.....

The Price is Wrong!

Today probably would have been a good day, but it's never good when you have to get up and go to work on a Saturday and not sleep in...Dave and the girls did a few errands this morning.. I came home from one heck of a wild morning at CAPC and took a nap. Sometime last week Hayleigh decided to put more than just a game in our Wii console so when me and Dave tried to play our new game last night (The Price is Right) we discovered that it wouldn't work. He took it over to Dale's house and they took it apart and found a Snoopy Christmas card in there! Needless to say everything is working now and we've gotten to play our game tonight. I'm winning if anyone wants to know, and Dave is cheating as usual!! Goodnight!

Party Hard

Well, the girls both had their Christmas parties today.. As I thought, Hayleigh did not have anything to do with Santa and me being there didn't help matters one bit. Hannah had fun at her party. They ate pizza and watched a movie and then passed out gift bags.. Needless to say both of the girls brought home plenty of goodies.. I also got a little more shopping done this afternoon. I went into work this morning for little while and we had our Office party. Lots of fun with presents, good food, and Christmas karaoke!!! fun, fun, fun........

Is it Christmas yet?

I'm beginning to wonder if Christmas is ever g0ing to get here!! I'm so tired of having to worry about getting gifts bought! At least the kids will have fun, but it's definitely not fun for me anymore.... Good day at work today. I think the kids had fun today at their schools. I know Hannah is excited about her Christmas party tomorrow and Hayleigh could totally care less. I'm guessing on another freak out when she finds out Santa will be there handing out gifts...haha. Oh, and David has inventory this time every year and he's getting ready for that at work.. fun, fun, fun. Well, I guess that's it for the Work family today.. Kinda boring, but that's us most days!!

The Roads are clear!!!!

Yeah! The roads are clear today. That's awesome... Everything is back to normal travel wise. It was a good day. Did a little shopping at lunch. The girls had a good day. Hannah was happy to get back to school today and is excited about upcoming Christmas parties on Friday. Hayleigh will get to have her first party at school on Friday afternoon. What she doesn't know is that Santa will be there..... So , we'll see how that will go. We went to Pet co after work to look around for some Christmas present ideas and also went to eat at Home Plate Diner afterwards. Now we are winding down for the night. Until tomorrow........

Slide, Slide, Slippety Slide

Ice, Ice everywhere! We woke up this morning to school closings and cars in the ditch! Not ours thank goodness, but other people weren't so Lucky! Hannah and Hayleigh went to Daycare while me and Dave trucked in to work. I had to be at work at 10am and Dave a little earlier than that. Good news is I found out I don't have to go in to work until 10am tomorrow too, so I don't have to worry about sliding into work early in the morning. Roads are still nasty with the refreezing that it's doing tonight, but should be cleared out later tomorrow. Where's my Sunshine??? I miss it already..... And to Jodie, hang in there, only one more day to go with the bed rest thing.. You Can Do It!!!! Maybe I can do a little shopping later in the day tomorrow... still have some presents to buy... Oh, yeah, and Hannah's cheer leading practice got cancelled tonight so she was bummed out. She didn't understand why we just couldn't go up there!!!! Later......

It's slick out there!

Well, it's been pretty slick out there today. The ice didn't start falling until after lunch and it didn't stick to bad. I had to sit out in my car for about 15 minutes to defrost my windows before I could go home tonight. We will have to wait to see what the weather does tonight, but more than likely nothing much will happen. Forget snow, huh? Hope everyone stays in and stays warm tonight and tomorrow!

Ice Ice Baby

Hey everyone! Good news! I got my Christmas cards made and sent off today!!! yeahhhh! Well we're sitting here watching the weather and it looks like the forecast says a little ice on the roads tomorrow and Tuesday. Why can't we ever just have pretty snow? It's always ice here, and ice shuts down everything!! Anyways, hope tomorrow is a good day it being Monday and all. Christmas is getting closer and I'm not done shopping just quite yet. Just something else to worry about,huh? Also, church was really good today. We're blessed to have such a great church family.. Well, goodnight and bundle up for the next two days, I guess!!!

Santa... I can explain

Tonight we went to Lake Degray to see all of the boats lit up on the lake. They have a tour every year where the boats are decorated and you can see and talk to Santa. It's called Iron Mountain Christmas. It was lots of fun. Hannah went right up to Santa and sat on his lap and talked with him a bit. Hayleigh was a different story! She flipped out!! She couldn't crawl up me fast enough!! Oh well, I got a cute picture out of it!We went with our friends (the Wright family). Lot's of fun! Christmas time is here again!!!!!!!

TGIF!!!!

Thank God it's Friday!!!! Today was a good day all in all. Work wasn't bad today and the day kinda went by pretty fast. That's always good! After work we went out to eat with friends (the Wright family) at TaMolly's! Great way to end the day. Now we're sitting in our living room as a family watching Frosty the Snowman!! And what's even better, I can sleep in tomorrow! yeahhhh!!
